All About Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana, 2022

As the word ‘Kisan” (farmer) in the scheme name suggests, this scheme is for the Indian farmers. PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY) is a central voluntary and contributory pension scheme for old age protection and security of small and marginal farmers. Indian Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi launched this scheme which disburses a minimum pension of Rs. 3000 per month, to approx. 5 crore marginalised farmers that are aged 60+.

The subscribing farmer has to contribute to a pension fund between Rs.55 to Rs.200 per month. The instalment amount depends on the entry age of the farmer. The central government previously also started an ambitious PM Kisan Yojana, under which every farmer is getting 6000/- annually. A part of this amount under PM Kisan can also be an instalment (premium) for PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana. These instalments are to be paid till the farmer turns 60.
