7 Early Signs of Heart Trouble You Can’t Afford to Ignore

Blame it on the perpetual stress in the apparently “modern” living, or constantly deteriorating living conditions, the fact remains the same that the number of people being diagnosed with life-threatening condition is increasing at an alarming rate. At the top of the pyramid are heart disorders that are usually diagnosed only after they have progressed to advanced stages, sometimes when it is too late for redemption. To help ensure you don’t find yourself in a similar situation, here are seven early signs of heart trouble that must not be ignored. Take a look.

1. Shoulder Pain

Pain in the shoulder, that radiates down to the body, is one of the most common symptoms of heart trouble. While in some cases, the pain may originate from the chest and then radiate to the shoulder; in other cases, the origination point on the pain can be the shoulder.

2. Dizziness

Dizziness can have a number of underlying causes, with heart disorders being one of the possibilities. If there is a sudden dizziness even when the person has had food in a while and has not been involved in any gravity-defying movements, you might be looking at a heart trouble.

3. Fatigue

Loss of stamina is another common symptom of a heart disease. If a person gets tired after doing everyday tasks that they could easily perform earlier, it is a clear red flag. In many cases, basic activities such as climbing stairs and carrying groceries can become an ordeal.

4. Persistent Cough

While cough is a common health issue among people of all age groups, prolonged cough could be a symptom of an underlying heart disease. Seeking medical intervention becomes essential if the cough is accompanied by white or pink mucus.

5. Swelling in the Lower Limb

Swelling in the legs, feet or ankles is another symptom of heart disease, which occurs due to a decline in the heart’s blood pumping efficiency. In such cases, the blood in the veins backs up, causing swelling or bloating. Immediately consult a doctor if you notice this sign.

6. Contorted Heart Function

Any irregularity in the heartbeat is another clear indicator of a heart trouble. While it is normal for the heart rate to change and skip beats during strenuous activities, if you notice these anomalies even while at rent, waste no time in consulting a doctor.

7. Unexplained Sweating

While a certain degree of perspiration is essential for a healthy body, but if a person breaks out in a cold sweat for no evident reason, it could be due to a heart attack. If you experience unexplained perspiration, call an emergency service without wasting any time. Though in the current time and space even young adults are experiencing heart troubles, it goes without saying that the risk is much higher in case of elderly persons. That’s why it is extremely important for them and their caregivers to keep a keen eye open for the warning signs we have discussed in the blog post, and have a reliable emergency response system, should the need arises.
